Among the forty successfully tested new products, most of them are scarce varieties, and some used to rely on imports. After strict appraisal, all product quality is qualified.
Beijing Steel Wire Factory has been diligent and frugal in the trial production of new products, saving a lot of trial production costs and valuable raw materials since the beginning of this year.
The inspection and appraisal indicate that all forty newly developed products have passed the quality standards.
Most of these new products are scarce varieties, some of which used to rely on imports. Among them, there are heat-resistant resistance tapes that are as thin as hair, stainless steel wires used in the chemical industry, and special tapes used in large industrial electric furnaces. There is also an alloy tool string that can be used to make high hardness, complex shaped cutting tools. In addition, there is a type of high-speed tool steel wire that can be used to make cutting tools such as milling cutters, piercing knives, zippers, cutters, and files, as well as small drill bits for drilling watch parts. They avoided detours in their work and achieved great results with less money. Before the trial production began, they carefully studied the process of trial producing new products. When trial producing high-speed tool steel wire, they first went to the factory that used this type of steel wire to study its usage characteristics, went to relevant scientific research units to understand the performance and smelting situation of this type of steel wire, learned about the production equipment in our factory, and then comprehensively calculated the process data such as compression force, heating temperature, insulation time, and heating rate for drawing this new product, ensuring the smooth progress of the trial production work.
The trial production of all new products lacks equipment, so the employees have to solve it by themselves. Do not wait for new devices if old ones can be used instead. The trial production of high-speed tool steel requires an annealing furnace, and workers and technicians use a general annealing furnace to modify it. They modified the existing machines in the factory slightly to replace the wire drawing machines needed for drawing various ultra-fine and hard steel wires. The main equipment required for trial production of new products, such as electric heating furnaces and electrolytic polishing furnaces, have no old ones that can be modified. The workshop director leads technicians and workers to design and manufacture them.
In addition, they actively sought the help of their sister factories and collaborated on processing using their equipment.
The various alloy steels used in the trial production of new products are very valuable, so employees take various measures to reduce the consumption of raw materials. They summarized last year's experience and corrected the erroneous idea that trial production of new products always wastes some raw materials, striving to minimize the use of raw materials as much as possible. In the trial production of billets, round bars, and wire drawing for high-speed tool steel, we always try one first, analyze and analyze it, and then try the second one. Only when we have experience and confidence can we continue with the trial production. In this way, the number of trial production failures is greatly reduced. During the trial production of heat-resistant high resistance alloy steel wire, if the temperature is too high, the steel billet will break like tofu residue and cannot be moved again if the temperature is too low. In this trial production, during the first feeding, three small steel ingots were placed at the tip. The first one cracked after only two passes. They immediately stopped to analyze and hired experts and professors to carefully identify the problem before continuing work. As a result, this heat-resistant and high resistance alloy steel wire was successfully trial produced using only three small steel ingots.
Due to the reasonable process and meticulous research and analysis work, all forty new products, except for the alloy tool steel, were successfully fed in one go. In this way, not only does it save a lot of valuable raw materials, but it also greatly shortens the trial production time and ensures the trial production task.
