As a subsidiary of Shougang Group, ShougangGitane has a profound historical accumulation in the field of electric heating alloys. The predecessor of the company, Beijing Steel Wire Factory, was established in 1956. It cooperated with Beijing Iron and Steel Institute to develop the first iron chromium aluminum electric heating wire in China, filling the domestic gap and making important contributions to the industrial development of New China. After nearly 70 years of development, Gitane has become a leading domestic and second largest supplier of electric heating alloy materials in the world. In December 2024, it successfully applied for a patent for high resistance long-life nickel iron electric heating alloy, continuing to lead industry technological innovation.
